EDUCATION and VOLUNTEERS
The Rainbow Wildlife Rescue has moved to Little Elm, Texas in 2014. I, Birgit Sommer, have found that my active rescue efforts are not needed in the DFW Metroplex (a good problem to have when enough wildlife rehabilitators are present to take care of the demand that so that my phone remained silent) and have therefore suspended my efforts regarding live wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
HOWEVER, since I have gathered such a huge amount of knowledge and information in the past 15 years of rescuing and raising not only thousands wildlife and domesticated pets, but also working with the schools and various organizations, that I have decided to now focus on education and share this knowledge. It would be a shame not to!
In regards of this new path of efforts, I am now looking for volunteers that are comfortable speaking in public, and would like to help me sort through all the information in order to develop a curriculum that I can offer to schools and the broader public, give classes and workshops, carry the message and most likely help even more animals this way than I was able to help with my own two hands. It would be a plus if you had teaching experience.
If you are interested in volunteering your time, which for now would be mostly from home on the computer, please contact me via FaceBook or send me a TEXT to 872-ABC-WILD. Please do NOT call.
