RESCUE THE RAINBOW WILDLIFE RESCUE

We rescued over 300 animals from 46 Texas Counties last year and spent nearly $20000 out of our own pocket. Now the Rainbow Wildlife Rescue needs rescuing itself!

4 AVAILABLE COMMUNITY PROJECTS:

  1. Fences
  2. Raccoon Cabin
  3. Off Ground Cages
  4. 8 x 8 x 8 Enclosures

Estimated cost for all 4 Projects: $4000

As the result of hard work we finally managed to move to a bigger place to build a bigger and better and rescue! We have a full acre to fence and double fence in and to build enclosures and plan wildlife habitats.

#1 FENCE PROJECT - COST: $3000
Fence Fence

We need to partially re-build and partially newly build 900 feet of privacy fence to protect the wildlife enclosures from neighbors, dogs and other animals In addition we need to double-fence the inside of the pasture with the already existing cattle panel fence and t-posts. We need to raise funds for about a 110 privacy fence panels of 8 ft wide and 6 ft tall, which amounts to about $3000.

#2 OFF GROUND CAGES PROJECT
Off ground cage

This 8 ft high cage has legs so it's off the ground, which makes it easier to clean and control.

Anyone with building skills can build a cage like this at their home and then bring it over with a truck or have us pick it up.

We are happy to provide the materials if you want to take on a project like this at your own home. I need cages of all sizes and designs.

Don't limit yourself! I need them for INSIDE and OUTSIDE.

Inside cages don't have to be so sturdy and can be built with 1 x 2s.

#3 RACCOON CABIN PROJECT
Raccoon Cabin

This shed will be the future Raccoon Cabin. We have 9 feet tall, 3 ft wide heavy iron panels for an outside run for which we will have to build a doggy door type access to. The she needs to be separated by a plywood wall and door so part of it can be used as storage as well.

The floor will either be laid out with patio bricks or we'll pour concrete while the flooring in the outside run will remain natural. We will have to put chain link down though to prevent the animals from digging out.

All materials are present, all we need is a group of folks to start working on it!

#4 SMALL ANIMAL ENCLOSURES PROJECT
Small animal enclosure

This 8 x 8 x 8 ft Small Animal Enclosure is built with 2 x 4s and 1/2 inch galvanized hardware cloth stapled to it. The Boy Scouts used nails to put it together, so it was easy to split it in 2 halves and transport it and put it back together.

The roof is made of tin with an overhang to provide more shade. This enclosure as well as the ones that will be build after this model need more plywood or shade cloth at the sides.

We need two more enclosures just like this except one of them needs to be twice as big. We have some of the materials but lots still needs transporting.
